how it works
Three words that come up a lot here, in plain English.
ZEC pairing
Normally a pump.fun coin is priced in SOL. A ZEC-paired coin is priced in bridged Zcash instead, so buying it means buying with ZEC and the chart moves in ZEC.
Etching
When a coin launches, its name, ticker and address get written into the memo of a real Zcash transaction. That record sits on the Zcash chain for good, and anyone can look it up by txid.
Shielding
Zcash can hide who sent what to whom using zero-knowledge proofs. Shielding means moving ZEC into that private pool. Unshielding brings it back out, for example to use on Solana.
